To Our Valued Customers, Parents and Students,
As a trusted partner, I want to provide you an update on High Desert Driving School’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic response plan and what we are doing to maintain business continuity in these very challenging times. Our number one priority remains maintaining a safe environment for our staff, our customers, and our students while minimizing any potential disruptions.
To address these challenges, we have to monitor the latest information and adjust our preparedness and response plans as required. As, this is a fluid situation, our team is in daily contact and heeding the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), as well as following mandates from federal, state, and local governments.
Below are steps we are already employing to safely serve you:
• Enhancing cleaning procedures and safety protocols in the office and classroom with an emphasis on common areas.
• Suspending all food and beverage services in our kitchen with the exception of your storing food for lunch in the refrigerator. Students taking class instruction will be required to pack a lunch and bring a personal cup or bottle/s of water from which to drink and hydrate. The nearby restaurants may be closed during this time.
• Practicing social distancing techniques with other students and customers or delivery personnel. Any one showing signs of illness will be asked to leave the location immediately.
• The possible “Suspending” of all Classroom based Driver Education Courses with the option of doing book study packets or Online Driver Ed. to enhance safety for all.
• Ensuring adequate driver training service for and to our customers as long as staff and their related family members remain in top health. The student and their related family m embers remain in top health.
• Suspending in-person driving instruction for a later date “without penalty” for those who registered after February 15th, 2020 in reference to our 90 day completion of course requirements to which you agreed upon your registration and payment for services.
• Reducing the need for customer “Office Visits” by utilizing alternative means of conducting business. (ie. Phone, text, internet, mail)
• As of today, we will remain open for business.
We understand that many customers may prefer not to visit the Office, attend class or take behind the wheel instruction at this time. As such, we will remain staffed and ready to respond to your needs via the mail, phone, text, and other electronic methods. The 24 hour notice of cancellation of behind the wheel instruction is still in effect to avoid loss of the prepaid/pre scheduled lesson.
While we cannot predict every potential disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continually work to minimize those impacts on your services with us and keep you posted.
Thank you for your business and for the opportunity to serve you. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kristine Bistline at 661-940-8835, hddsmail@yahoo.com and in an emergency only 661-406-8820.
